LITIGATION, ARBITRATION, ADR AND MEDIATION

This department is designed to service all other departments in the area of dispute resolution.  Members of NEA are particularly active in the areas of company disputes, debt recovery, infringement of trademarks, insolvency, property litigation and commercial disputes, corporate restructuring and schemes of arrangement and mergers in general.

NEA is particularly active in the area of criminal law and regularly defends clients both in connection with criminal matters and in the defence of its clients who may require legal services.  The Firm’s criminal law portfolio is frequently used on a pro-bono basis as part of its corporate social responsibility.

We have a large complement of litigation on behalf of the International Finance Corporation and other International Financial Organisations and multilateral agencies.  Some of the landmark cases members of the Firm have handled are published in the law reports and are extensively quoted.

Principal Partner of the Firm was appointed to serve as an arbitrator on the dispute resolution panel of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.  NEA also offers services in the area mediation.
