Given its roots in Irving and Bonnar, the principal parties in the NEA team have a long and distinguished history of transactional excellence in the foreign direct investment and divestment, mergers, demergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring
NEA advises and guides prospective foreign investors on Nigerian compliance procedures and regulatory consents and all other aspects of Nigerian Investment Law and practice. The firm structures Joint Venture projects for foreign and Nigerian entities. It equally assists and guides investors seeking to dis-invest from such companies. These tasks are considerably facilitated by our network of contacts within the concerned regulatory authorities and the combined pool of in-house experience garnered from a history of similar transactions.
These date from the first schemes of arrangement to the spate of merger and demerger activity of the eighties, nineties and through to the 21st century. Divestments include Texaco Inc. from Texaco Nigeria, Baring Brothers from ICON, Bank of America, and American Express to more recent restructuring of the Tolaram Group. NEA team is extremely active in maintaining the highest standards of Corporate Governance and Regulatory Compliance through its Company Secretarial Services team. The Historical list of transaction is also available.
